We first visited in Hiriketiya in 2015, before the cafes, before the surf schools, when the bay had no name on Google Maps. What we found was a small fishing village wrapped around a perfect crescent of sand. There were not many visitors, no coffee in sight, only palms, waves, and stillness.

Studio Mond is the creative arm of MOND, a ceramic workshop, artist studio, and small sanctuary for collaboration and making. Located 300 metres from the hotel, in the heart of Dikwella town, the studio sits within the rhythm of daily life: fruit stalls, school bells, the hum of scooters, and the sound of clay being wedged.
